Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.

The Great American Spirit

Thoughts, feelings and emotions that hopefully provoke the purest of minds...Capturing thoughts through written words is like capturing pictures on film or digital camera.

In wake of the tragic event which killed six people and injured a dozen more in Tuscon, Arizona, USA last Saturday, 8 January 2011. The tragic event which sent shock wave across America occurred when a lone gunman opened fire with no specific reason on a Congresswoman, Federal Judge and other normal citizens who convened to hear the Congresswoman speaks at a normal outdoor meeting just outside a drug store.

Americans came together united with its President and civil servants from all branches of government conveying their sympathy and offer condolences to those families who have loss loved ones and those who are still struggling to heal.

It is such an American spirit which made me prouder to be an American. In times of crisis and in needs; the nation's leaders always come to heed the calls to action and most importantly offer their moral support to its citizens.

In this difficult time where the Americans are so divided by party politics and undergoing the worst of time economically; there seemed to me a sense of unity.

President Barack Obama spoke eloquently and in the most solemn tone of voice to remind us all that Civility is about how we should value those loved ones that are still living, those we have forgotten and those close to us but seemed so far. It is only in such time of sudden loss that we reflect inward to find ourselves and those who are close to us most.

It also reminds us that in such tragic time, we not only mourn those loss souls; but rejoice them because they have given us hope for something much grandiose.
